Home & garden: Al fresco lounging with HomeSense

That there is our new bench. It sits at the end of the garden, facing back towards the house, and is surrounded by a big old rambling rose that's tantalisingly in bud. I don't even know what colour they'll bloom, but I do know what a job it was to hack it back, prune and tie to the wall. All those thorns! There's one bud that'll come out first which I've snapped here. What colour do you think?

I'm hoping for an orangey-peach.

Anyway, the sun's been a bit remiss for most of the month of May and (of course, it being half term next week) the forecast remains rotten. But I'll enjoy the sun when I can, a cool drink next to me on the side table, sandals kicked off, and a blanket for if it gets chilly. Those cushions on the left? Also from HomeSense and water-resistant! Genius.

Have you had a chance to enjoy any sunshine yet? Do you have any outdoor space for al fresco drinking and eating? What are your bank holiday plans? We're hanging out with family and friends and trying to keep dry!
