This morning was a day of totem poles, screen prints, butterfly collage, cherry blossom painting, and space invader stickering. Two of my dear friends are very talented art teachers, and have put together six sessions of thoughtful art classes for kids during the long summer hols.

The kids loved it, especially the screen printing and the boys are now the proud owners of owl t-shirts and pillowcases. Alice and Karen have put in a huge amount of time and energy into making the classes a cut above the normal holiday club activities - the tables were set up and ready to go as soon as the kids arrived, the resources were good quality and plentiful, there was even a table set up with magazines for those lucky mums with older kids to enjoy a quiet-ish cuppa and a slice of homemade cake.

Four sessions remain this summer on Fridays for the rest of August. There are loads more pics on Alice's Flickr and details of the classes here - find out more and book your place now, Bristol people.
